After passing the gates, you will be taking an alley of plane trees. The alley was mentioned by Chateaubriand: "Le Marais kept the alley plane trees through the Revolution".
The fabulist Florian wrote that leaving the alley of plane trees was leaving a paradise. At the end of the alley the visitor will envision a pink ochre building which was once a mill and which often hosts exhibitions. On the other side the
visitor will discover the 12th century tower converted into a dovecote and a 17th century building where the museums are located.
